Information Worker Community Day 2010 is co-organized by Malaysia SharePoint User Group (SPUG), The Extraordinary League of IT Experts (ELITE) and Microsoft Innovation Center to bring you the latest showcase of Microsoft latest Information Worker products which covers SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010. Speakers

 

Wouter van Vugt, MVP VSTO
Wouter is a Microsoft MVP and independent expert on Office and SharePoint technologies. He has focused on SharePoint Foundation as a developer platform, wrote the world's first book on Open XML and is an author for MSDN. Wouter is a trainer with Critical Path Training, with which he successfully authored and delivered SharePoint 2010 workshops to hundreds of professional software developers from Microsoft as well as other ISVs and System Integrators that have participated in the private beta as part of the TAP, Metro and Ignite programs.

Steve Sofian, MVP SharePoint Server 
Steve has been in  the IT industry for more than 10 years.  His deep passion in software development since young led him to write his first QuickBasic program.  Over the past few years, he has been in involved in Workflows, Portal and Content Management through a myriad of systems like Lotus Notes, SAP and SharePoint and the development of solutions for the integration of disparate systems.  At the moment, his main focus is on SharePoint and BizTalk Technologies (https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile=798990F8-3FD0-40AE-9BD4-22630EB1528A)

 

Loke Kit Kai, MVP SharePoint Server
Kit Kai worked on SharePoint since 2003 Beta 2, and have successfully implemented numerous projects, some of them overcoming SharePoint's limitations. Some of these achievements includes security trimmed UI in wss v2, and the first in the world to customise Wiki.

Patrick Yong, MVP SharePoint Server

Patrick Yong has about 10 years experience as software architect in the Asia Pacific region. He has done projects in countries like Beijing, Singapore and Malaysia. With keen interest in programming since high school days he started programming on MS Basic and Turbo Pascal and had gotten his hands dirty on COM+, J2EE, .NET and PHP. He is also one of the founders of SPUG, an independent body of SharePoint IT pros and developers in Malaysia. During free time he blogs about technologies at http://patrickyong.net

 

Randy Williams, MVP SharePoint Server

Randy has 20 years of eclectic IT experience. He has an extensive development background with the last 13 years focused on architecting and developing Microsoft-based web and database solutions. Randy is a senior architect and trainer for Synergy Corporate Technologies and has led many successful SharePoint deployments over the past several years. Randy writes for Windows IT Pro magazine and contributes to books, in addition to his SharePoint blog. He has a Master's degree in Information Systems and several Microsoft Certifications such as MCSE, MCSD, MCDBA, MCT and MCTS (WSS and MOSS Development). For 2009, he was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in SharePoint Server. Randy is based in Singapore and runs the SE Asian branch of Synergy. Poo Chin Loong, MVP Exchange

Working with Max Solution, one of the Gold Parner, Poo has more than ten years of Information Technology (Managing projects and consulting) experience. He has over six years of work experience in Corporate IT Training, from technical training to KLSE listed company director’s IT overview. Poo started his work experience in IT, as a System Engineer, IT Consultant and Corporate IT Trainer, and has been working as an IT infrastructure architect, which includes Project Management, Pre and Post Sales engagement tasks, consulting and implementation of turn key project. He has both excellent written and communication skills; speaks three languages fluently; excellent people management and leadership skills, which he effectively utilizes in Project Management and Corporate IT Training roles. He has the ability to translate technical jargon into simple ‘English’ terms so executives/users can comprehend complex IT processes easily; he also recognized as a Microsoft Champ. Ko Woan Chyi

Woan Chyi is Solution Specialist for Microsoft in Malaysia focusing on the Microsoft Business Productivity tools. She has spent the last 10 years working with customers on business productivity improvement and business process automation solutions. Woan Chyi has a real passion for increasing business productivity and delivering strong business benefits through software solutions. These solutions include knowledge management, workflow, Document Management, portal, Enterprise Search and IT collaborations.

 

Dino Cavestany

Dino Cavestany is the Singapore Country Manager for AvePoint.  He has 7 years experience in the industry, focusing almost exclusively on SharePoint starting with SharePoint 2003.  4 years of that was spent managing the Citibank Singapore SharePoint environment’s technical and business requirements.

 

Jen Wong

Jen has been in IT consulting firm where primary role is to handle projects as Project Manager and lead the Microsoft Office Family for the past 5 years. Both excellent in written and communication skills; speaks two languages and one dialect fluently; excellent people management and leadership skills, which is effectively utilizes in Project Management. Currently, working actively together with Non-Profit Organizations in sharing the benefits and Office utilization with Malaysian entrepreneurs.
 

Hoo Kai Sheng

Unlike the majority of the speakers in this list, Kai Sheng is not an MVP. However, he has survived various collaboration and workflow implementations with SharePoint, long enough to remember earlier names like SharePoint Portal Server 2001 (SPS) and Content Management Server 2002 (CMS). About a few years back, he has found refuge in K2 – an organization that specializes in workflow technologies on the Microsoft platform and never looked back since. Whenever he is not lazing around, Kai Sheng prefers to share only practical experiences on both SharePoint and K2 technologies with technical and business folks alike.
